What is an Artist WIP

So I was getting annoyed at myself for not doing anything artistic the past couple of days (Baking/cooking doesnt count!) and I doodled this little creature.  Yes I know, I'll get back to my watercolor pictures soon. (I really needed a digital break)

As I was drawing her I kept wondering "what is an artist?". We basically are builders who create out of the materials we have around us, and with a swish of a brush....MAGIC happens!

Haven't really decided on a color scheme for this gal yet. But we'll see.
