Reverie from Magellan by Delight046 Reverie from Magellan by Delight046
Done with 92% watercolor 6% Acrylic, and 2% colored pencils.

ITS DONE! I'm having trouble keeping up with my deadline goal. But 3 of my days off got eaten up thanks to the family reunion and 2 inprompt-to-family-get-togethers that my mother never took the time to tell me about till the VERY LAST second.

Anyway, Venus actually turned out very well....despite some composition flaws (arranged the planet Venus too close to princess Venus so she tends to disappear into the planet. Doesn't...POP). I also wanted to have the inner planets that are closer to the sun be more daylight related, and those further away to be night timeish. :3

On the bright side! Because of all the family get togethers, I had time to doodle the next couple of senshi with their castle. So hopefully I can get them done in time now that I've worked AHEAD of schedule. :3

All Inner Senshi!

I'm glad you like it! :3 Although it's not 100% the way how Naoko Takeuchi designed it. I think the top overlay part of the dress would be more opaque  (see through) than how I have it. But hey it's passable. ^_^;;

Maybe, after you've finished this series, you could do a competition for renditions of the Sol System's Senshi's Castles (the ones never seen in the franchise), don't you think?

Whenever I do competitions, they never really turn out all that well. :/ But I like the idea of a Senshi Castle Competition. >D

I wonder what they'd come up with?

Probably better results than what I've come up with. XD Although I did a better rendition of Mercury and Jupiters castles: Mercury's castle design was based on a slide I saw at my family reunion, and Jupiters castle looks kinda like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. xD

A giant lightning rod motif, eh? Probably to harness power from the Great Red Spot ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Re… )?

Yup! I was thinking about having a storm on the horizon with.... LIGHTNING! to go along with Jupiters thunder motif. :3 Although since Princess Jupiter wears green, I'm thinking of making Io a "habitable moon" with green foliage, etc. :3

About 5 years or so ago, I bought this space artbook by Michael Carroll at a dollar store (can't beat buying a book new for a $1), and they have this amazing rendition from the atmosphere of jupiter (for some reason the website says it's Saturn, but in the book it says it's Jupiter): stock-space-images.com/CosmicC…

I don't see why Princess Jupiter wouldn't have her own fully-functioning Greenhouses/Biodomes, (housing a collection of flora not seen on the Earth, perhaps?).

Would the fully-functioning Greenhouses/Biodomes be located on the Moon, Io, kept safe and separate from the Castle, Io, if the Castle were ever under siege, perhaps?

You picture for Princess Jupiter; the image of Princess Jupiter, in one of her Greenhouses, tending her prized Camilla plants, with Io Castle in the distance?

What do you think?

Very true! Plus Jupiter does love gardening. If I remember right, I think her favorite flower is Camilla?

So yeah, definitely going to paint some flowers on Io. :3 Or at least make it more of a flower garden scene. :3

Beautiful. Simply Beautiful! (thumbs-up).

And cleaver of you to have repurposed her Love Chain into the chains on her swing, too.

Yay! :D

YES! I'm glad you noticed the chain! :D I was debating about using "Venus Love Chain" (with hearts), or the chain from the first part of the manga, and I finally decided on the manga version.... because there needed to be some backstory (or idea) as to why she had a chain around her waist or where it came from. :) I'm still not sure about having a swing out in the middle of space tho. XD

And Yes, Uranus is up next. Im probably going to write out the schedule for the last 6 senshi's (+ Royal Family).  So that it's out in the open. I'm still trying to get one picture done a week, but I'm at the mercy of work and upcoming projects. :<

RE: Venus' Love Chain: The chain is a nod to Aphrodite's Golden Girdle ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphrodit… & en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girdle#G… ); according to Greco-Roman mythology, it was sometimes borrowed by Hera/Juno to keep her husband, Zeus'/Jupiter's attention away from other women.

Looking forward to your next one. Good luck. (thumbs-up).
